How gemstone recommendations work in Jyotish

In classical Vedic astrology, gemstones (ratna) are often prescribed to strengthen benefic planets or harmonize challenging ones, but only after the chart is judged holistically. Our engine uses your full birth data to compute sidereal positions, a Shadbala-style strength snapshot (rupas vs thresholds), and then suggests stones with clear roles (for example lagna lord support vs calming a strong functional malefic).

Why accurate birth time and place matter

The ascendant (lagna) and Moon sign shift quickly with time and longitude. A few minutes can change house lordship logic, which in turn changes which planet is treated as a primary benefactor for gemstone support. Always use the most reliable birth certificate or hospital record you have.
