What is Mangal Dosha?
Mangal Dosha (often called Manglik dosha) is a Vedic marriage compatibility concept centred on Mars: when Mars occupies certain houses from the lagna, Moon, or sometimes Venus, it is said to add heat, independence, or friction to partnership themes. Tradition also lists cancellations, Jupiter in a kendra, Mars in own or exaltation sign, and other combinations, that can reduce or nullify the severity.
This calculator surfaces the engine's yes/no flag, an anshik (partial) marker, a numeric score, and textual factors explaining which placements and aspects were considered. It is a screening tool, not a substitute for a full synastry reading with an astrologer.
