What are Raja Yogas?
In classical Jyotish, Raja Yoga broadly describes combinations, especially involving kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) and trikona (1st, 5th, 9th) lords, that raise the potential for visibility, responsibility, and “king-like” success when the rest of the chart and timing support it. The exact recipes vary by ascendant: a planet that is both a trikona lord and a kendra lord (a yogakaraka) is a classic Raja Yoga contributor for that lagna.
Related benefic patterns you may hear about alongside Raja Yoga include Gajakesari Yoga (Jupiter and Moon in mutual kendra), Dhana Yoga (wealth links between 2nd, 5th, and 11th lords and gains), Chandra–Mangala Yoga (Moon and Mars together), and Vipareeta Raja Yoga (dusthana lords in specific configurations that turn difficulty into leverage). Your calculator lists whatever yogas the engine detects, including other named yogas such as Nabhasa or rare chains, each with a strength percentage and a short meaning.
Treat percentages as relative weights from the model, not a guarantee of life outcomes. Pair results with dasha/transit analysis or the Rajyoga report for sequencing and remedies.
Wealth-related Dhana yogas are also covered in Dhan Yog in your kundli, and a full write-up is in the Rajyoga report.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have a Raj yoga in my kundli?
Enter your birth details above; the calculator lists every yoga the engine detects, with a strength percentage and meaning. Treat the percentage as a relative weight, not a guarantee.
What is a yogakaraka?
A yogakaraka is a planet that rules both a kendra and a trikona for your ascendant, which makes it a classic Raja yoga contributor for that lagna.
What is Gajakesari yoga?
Gajakesari yoga forms when Jupiter and the Moon are in mutual kendras (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th from each other). It is one of the benefic patterns this calculator checks.
When does a Raj yoga give results?
Usually during the dasha or antardasha of the planets that form it, and only when the rest of the chart supports it. See your period dates with the Vimshottari dasha calculator.
